On Oct. 21, 1995, People's rally to protest against U.S. military service men raping a young girl and to demand revision of SOFA was held at Futenma, Okinawa. 85,000 Okinawans gathered for this rally, an unprecedented number of participants in Okinawan history. This shows how serious the people of Okinawa are about their position.
