The incident occured on September 4, 1995 
at a northern town of mainland Okinawa

A 12 year old school girl was abducted by 3
US military servicemen to a nearby beach
where she was tied and raped.
Okinawa Prefecture police recieved a warrant for
the 3 suspect of the crime.
The military, which had custody of the 3 men,
refused to release the 3 men to the local police
using Agreement Under Article VI (*1) as a reason.

The 3 suspects were transfered to the local police
and tried under Japanese law 5 months after that.
